BS7629 is the British Standard defining the construction requirements for cables intended to maintain circuit integrity when subjected to fire, mechanical shock, and water. To be compliant, these cables must withstand 15 minutes under fire and impact conditions, plus a further 15 minutes under fire, impact and water immersion. Cleveland Cable Company's range of BS7629 cables are also compliant to BS5839, covering fire resistance up to 30 minutes (standard) and up to 120 minutes (enhanced). These cables are typically used in security lighting, fire detection, and fire alarm applications.
